Central Organization of Trade Union (COTU) secretary general and a vocal social welfare reformist Francis Atwoli has been Kenya's key policy maker for decades based on his role in the pluralist giant union organization.
Atwoli, who has been a critical figure in the Mulembe nation advocating for the Luhya unity and partnership between ANC leader and Ford Kenya leader, and the respect he commands from the workers' unions in the country makes him the most influential leader on social policing.
If he opts to run for the presidency, he will have an utmost upper hand against all odds based on his political experience.
The workers unionist is a great pillar in championing for the united country with his stand to support the government for the interest of the workers which has been earning him honour and a voice of reason.
With President Kenyatta bound to retire from politics after serving his second and final term as dictated by the constitution, Atwoli might use the good relationship he has with the Head of State for endorsement as the country's best option.
President Kenyatta last year promised that he will shock many by his choice for the presidency in 2022 polls may give the unionist a great advantage.
In the same regard, Atwoli has shown boldly that COTU will not allow Kenyatta to go home after his second and final term.
