He has found the region unwavering support from the people all along since he took over from his late father Jaramogi Oginga Odinga.

The former Primer has remained put for over 2 decades and the people have known no other leader apart from him.

However, his apparent unwillingness to endorse a younger leader to inherit his Luo Nyanza political base is a tragedy in waiting for the region.

This would throw Nyanza into uncertainty in the instance that the unsayable happens.

Consequently, the region could end up divided between several leaders keen on the defacto seat upon his exit.

This will take away the prestige and honor it currently enjoys as a single vote basket known to vote wholly in one direction.

He should as well disclose his plans for the 2022 general polls because his silence on his plans for the presidential race is another issue that should be handled as early as now to avoid again landing the region in the political cold after 2022.

The ODM leader has always made last minute moves and surprise attacks in his presidential bids.

Though he might think that being secretive is the best move or could be giving the nation time to heal from last year's polls, his last-minute moves have always led to futility.

Should he not announce his plans and start working on them in advance, then he could again lose.

This will subject his diehard Luo Nyanza supporters to the humiliation and embarrassment that they have always undergone after losing and being branded opposition figures.

Actually, his fifth shot at the seat will be a bad idea in the first place and he should consider passing the baton to a fresh person.

This is because his opponents have learnt his game and the best weapon against him, and are likely to unleash the very same technique, sending him losing for the fifth time.
