Details indicate that the DP has invited all elected leaders to two planned consultative meetings, including members of ODM party.

Among those invited are Taveta MP Naomi Shabaan and area Woman Representative Lydia Haika, who confirmed that the DP will indeed be visiting the county.

"It is true that Dr Ruto will visit the county today. I will give you more details later," said Haika.

Details indicate that the meetings will be held at the Taita Hills and Salt Lick lodges.

County Assembly Majority Leader Jason Tuta could not confirm if his colleagues within the ODM party will be in attendance, though he confirmed that they have since been invited.

Details also remain scanty on whether governor Granton Samboja has been invited, with county spokesman Dennis Onsarigo saying that he isn't aware of the same.

“I will consult with the governor. For now, I have not seen his diary,” said Onsarigo.

The meetings come only a week after the DP held another meeting in the county, in his vast farm in Taveta, where the discussion was winning the approaching Jubilee polls.
