Uasin Gishu political leaders have sent a message of condolences to the family and friends of the late Kibra member of parliament Ken Okoth.
Okoth succumbed to colorectal cancer, which he has been battling with for the last few months.
Through their official Facebook pages, the leaders eulogized Okoth as a visionary leader who kept the interest of his electorates at heart.
“A very sad evening to learn the passing of a friend and colleague Hon. Ken Okoth. This is a huge blow to the family, great people of Kibra, 12th parliament and Kenya at large,” said the Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi.
Colorectal cancer (CRC), also known as bowel cancer and colon cancer, is the development of cancer from the colon or rectum (parts of the large intestine).
The Kibra Member of Parliament was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer five months ago.
“Sad to learn about the demise of our colleague Hon. Ken Okoth Mp Kibra Constituency, who has been battling Colon cancer for long. He was an excellent legislator devoid of unnecessary political rhetoric and insults but full of excellent policies and programs. Truly one of the very few who merited the title 'Honorable'. We have lost a colleague and a leader. Rest In Eternal Peace,” said the Kesses member of parliament Dr. Swarup Mishra.
Okoth arrived in Kenya from France, where he was under medication where he was undergoing medication and was on Thursday night rushed to Nairobi Hospital in critical condition where he succumbed to cancer.Moiben Member of parliament Silas Tiren eulogized Okoth as a person with a heavy heart.
“I have learned of the death of my colleague Hon Ken Okoth whom until his demise was Kibra Mp. The country has been robbed of one of the best leader, who served his people to the last minute of days in this world. Go well Hon Ken, you fought cancer bravely and you have now rested,” Tiren said.
