Borabu MP Ben Momanyi has said that he is ready to take over from Governor John Nyagarama as 2022 succession politics picks pace in the South Nyanza region.
The lawmaker, speaking in his constituency on Tuesday when he issued CDF cheques, said he will contest for the Nyamira governor seat in 2022.
"I am fit to take over from Nyagarama. I am therefore, requesting Nyagarama to endorse me in 2022 to succeed him," he said.
He said throughout his tenure, he will ensure public funds from CDF kitty are used appropriately in launching various development projects across the constituency.
"In my tenure, there will be no single cent to be misappropriated. The electorates should be on high alert to ensure CDF officials don't embezzle the funds and in return to taint my name," he said.
The Wiper Party MP asked his rivals to join hands with him to serve the electorates until he completes his term in 2022.
Momanyi protested hiked fuel prices saying Finance Cabinet secretary Henry Rotich should be sent home for rushing to implement the 16 per cent VAT on petroleum products.
