Kisumu Lakeside Basketball club who are playing in the Kenya Basketball men’s Premier League have acquired the services of young players.
The mover is geared towards their efforts to beef up the squad's readiness in preparation of the 2019 season that kicked off last weekend.
The five are;Tevin Lemalasia from Musingu High, Elton Okello from Homa Bay High, Mohammed Salim from KCA University, Modicks Onyango from Thurdibuoro school and Kisumu Boys High duo of Ricky Omondi and Emmanuel Kyaka.
Speaking to Hivisasa sports at their training base at Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground, Lakers assistant coach Christopher Kinywa said that their target of the season is to finish at top four so as to qualify for the playoffs and finally finals.
Kinywa revealed that they have played in a number of tournaments as one of their preparation.
''This time we want to be in the top four. We want to finish in the top four in the regular season. Our aim is to reach the final and I know with the team we have right now,we are good to go,'' said Kinywa.
Kinywa added that they faced a lot of financial challenges last season and he has called upon well-wishers to help them to cater for travelling and meals expenses adding that the club is aiming at fighting drug abuse and preventing young people from engaging in illegal activities.
