Deputy President William Ruto has been urged to respect his political mentor, Raila Odinga.
Kisii County Governor James Ongwae argued that DP Ruto learnt his political tactics because he was too close with the ODM party leader.
"Raila mentored DP Ruto politically and luckily Ruto rose to his current position. It is worrying that DP Ruto doesn't respect the former Prime Minister. I am urging Ruto to respect Raila and stop insulting him at his rallies," he stated.
Mr. Ongwae said the DP will have no option other than to accept Raila's referendum calls.
The ODM allied Governor insisted that future elections should not be chaotic and therefore, the constitution should be amended.
"We don't want to continue witnessing Kenyans fighting each other because of elections. Amending the constitution will curb election chaos," he stated.
The county boss said it is DP Ruto's time to regret his bad political decision in 2013.
"Ruto dumped Raila when he needed him most in 2013 and supported President Uhuru Kenyatta. It is now his turn in 2022 to regret because Uhuru won't support him for Presidency," said Ongwae.
He was speaking on Friday at the County headquarters.
