Hesborn Ogochi, a close friend to the late, alleges that the death of Amos Nyakundi resulted from suicide and not illness and that the suicide revolves around love affairs, which his father was against.

He further said that the late had an affair with a girl, who comes from around Keroka town, with whom he wanted to settle down immediately he was done with his last paper and that Amos had asked his father to allow him to marry her. Unfortunately, his father was against the idea and therefore Amos resorted to end his life.

"My friend had an affair with a lady from Keroka whom he wanted to marry after finishing his form four exams. On asking his father about it, the father denied it saying he was too young to marry. This must have made him reach a decision to take poison and end his life,” Ogochi said.

According to the late's father, Mr Samwel Masaka, the boy was suffering from ulcers which 'caused' the death.

The teachers of Geturi Secondary too agree with the late Amos's father saying the late was suffering from ulcers. Hesborn further claims that the late gave out the suicidal note that the teachers chose not to disclose.
