New Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha on Friday caused tension after he arrived at his ministry's headquarter at Kencom House earlier than expected.
In a video shared by blogger Cyprian Nyakundi, Magoha is seen conversing with one of the officers at the office.
The new CS warned workers against reporting to work late.
He asked the officer to tell the staff not to report to work as they have been doing in the past.
“Let me tell you if I start coming here at 10 what will you people do. You will come after 10 that is it. So is there a need for me to continue seeing this. People have to sit down and work or else I will remove them,” he told the officer.
President Uhuru Kenyatta had exuded confidence in Magoha after his nominations were approved.
He had asked him to serve Kenyans with diligence and determination during his reign.
He said that Magoha is not a novice in the field and has what it takes to change the look of the ministry.
He also assured him of full support as he kicks starts his career at the new position.
“You are not coming into a new field. You are very familiar with it and I am really counting on you to support and help us to deliver to the people of Kenya especially this issues of 100% transition. Ensure you manage the resources that we have in a proper and good manner,” he said
