Kalonzo Musyoka is among veteran and experienced politicians in the country.
The former Vice President is also the Ukambani political kingpin.
Kalonzo, a lawyer by profession has served in the country’s top positions and is now eyeing to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 general election.
The Wiper Party leader's political life has, however, witnessed instances of controversies.
He has been branded a ‘watermelon’, a name he says he has accepted.
On January 24, 2018, Kalonzo was in trouble after a section of Kamba Mau Mau veterans threatened to curse him.
The elders warned both Kalonzo and the former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama accusing them of misleading the Kamba community.
They threatened to curse the two Kamba leaders if they were to take part in opposition leader Raila Odinga’s swearing in as the People’s President.
The elders claimed that the swearing in was illegal and as such Kalonzo and Muthama should keep off.
“Do not provoke our anger since you are too young,” the Mau Mau veterans told Kalonzo and Muthama.
Kalonzo later skipped Raila's swearing in as the People's President at Uhuru Park in Nairobi on January 30, claiming that he had been put under house arrest.
Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula also snubbed the swearing-in and were branded as traitors.
