President Uhuru Kenyatta has been urged to resign and hand over power to another person if he is unable to streamline the country.
According to political analyst Gerald Bitok, Uhuru has demonstrated that he cannot lead Kenyans to prosperity as was promised earlier, judging by his inability to save Kenyans from poverty.
He says that Uhuru is actually worsening the situation and heaping more burdens on them; by wasting state monies on unnecessary expenditures and retaining needless state posts.
Speaking on Wednesday night, he urged the head of state to leave power if unable to deliver, suggesting that he can even hand over to his ally and ODM boss Raila Odinga.
"If the president is unable to lead then he should resign. Kama anataka kusaidia wakenya arecall hawa wafanyikazi wengi wa serikali na kama ameshindwa awachie Baba (if he wants to save Kenyans let him recall some of the many state officials and if unable to lead let him hand over to Raila)," he said on Radio Jambo.
He personally took issue with the County Commissioner positions, which he said should have been scrapped off by now had the president been serious on taming the wage bill.
He also criticized Uhuru's formation of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), which he said has been used to suck out public monies without any beneficial returns.
According to Bitok, it's weird that the taskforce was allocated Sh10 billion, only to come up with a bad report which doesn't solve the issues affecting Kenyans negatively.
"The BBI is of no benefit to Kenyans. It will only benefit a few individuals (Hii BBI haitasaidia wakenya, itasaidia tu watu binafsi)," he added.
He termed it a waste of money to allocate the BBI taskforce money to collect Kenyans views, only for the report to be returned to Kenyans as is being pushed by Uhuru and Raila.
