Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has now rooted for an ODM candidate, Benson Musungu in the upcoming mini elections in Kibra constituency.
Taking to his Facebook on Monday, the vocal legislator has stated that the vacant Kibra seat should be given to somebody who was born there while arguing that the late Ken Okoth's desire to do better for the electorates was due to the fact that he was a Kibra resident.
''The problem with Kibra constituency has been political tourism and slum tourism. My late friend Ken Okoth was born in Kibra hence his deep passion to uplift the lives of Kibra people,'' read part of Moses Kuria's post.
While pledging to support Benson, Kuria has urged the residents to avoid voting in the people who have just been attracted by the vacant seat.
''Political tourists and slum tourists will not help Kibra. The person I vouch for to take forward from where Ken left is another Born in Kibra, Benson Musungu,'' added Kuria.
Moses Kuria has seemingly sided with ODM in what has transpired to have snubbed his Jubilee party's candidate footballer cum politician McDonald Mariga Wanyama who was unveiled as Jubilee Party flag bearer on Monday.
However, Benson Musungu, the ODM youth leader is hoping to make it through in the ODM nominations slated for September 7, 2019 according to report by National Elections Board (NEB) chairperson Judith Paremo.
Kibra seat was declared vacant by National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi after Ken Okoth's demise after succumbing to cancer.
