Nairobians have been described as most peculiar and interesting people. However, city dwellers experience different things in the course of their daily activities.

There are people and things city dwellers fear and those that they don’t fear. Here are the people majority Nairobians fear most.

1. Land-lords/land-ladies

Majority of city dwellers rent their houses and pay a Monthly fee.

Some landlords and landladies are no-nonsense people and don’t entertain delays on rent remittances.

2. Shy-locks

Shy-locks are in every corner of the city.

The shy-locks lend out money at exorbitant interest rates. In many cases, the shy-locks give out loans on expensive items like electronics and give specific timings for repaying.

People who fail to repay the loans face the wrath of shy-locks who auction their property forcefully without giving notices.

3. City 'Kanjos'

Nairobi residents fear city askaris and will do everything to avoid falling into their traps.

Walking through the city you will spot hawked eye askaris looking for law-breakers.

4. Street urchins/'Chokoras'

Nairobians fear street urchins because they sometimes forcefully demand for money or material things.

The street urchins sometimes give threats of beating or splashing their victims with 'poop' if they fail to honor their demands.
