Speaking to journalists in Mandera Town on Saturday,  the Jubilee Governor asked locals not to protect terrorists or their sympathisers.

He said that terrorists do not represent any religion, friends, or family, adding that those involved must be flushed out.

“It is important we (locals) cooperate with the police and investigators as they fight to flush out terror agents and criminals,” he said.

The governor called on the government to deploy elite police to the borders to repulse suspected terror agents.

The Mandera County boss said that terror agents could be taking advantage of the porous borders to gain entry and stage attacks

“We need specialised police forces like the Recce on the borders to repulse the attackers,” he said.

The Mandera governor spoke as anti-terror police are said to have pitched camp in North Eastern in the hunt for suspects linked to the DusitD2 terror attack.

On Monday, police arrested three terror suspects in Fafi and Hagadera market in Garissa.

Eight suspects linked to the DusitD2 terror attack are in police custody as investigations into the attack that left 21 people dead intensify.
