This is due to the claims that he has resigned his position as the Wiper party chairman.

Several people, especially Ukambani residents claim that the governor is embroiled in feuds with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Today, Kibwana has come out in public to defend his decision of resigning as the party chairman.

Speaking on radio citizen, Kibwana said the people he represents are the ones he only listens to and they had granted him powers to do what he wants.

The governor said his ideologies differ with Kalonzo's.

“There have been issues within the party, especially between myself and the party leader. I sat down with the people of Makueni and told them I could no longer be the Wiper party chairman. They said it was fine as it is not mandatory for me to hold that position in order to serve them,” Kibwana said.

Kibwana said together with the locals, he will take a goat to Kalonzo as a token and to formally inform him of the intended exit.

He also said he is ready to defend his gubernatorial seat if the party pushes for a by-election.
