Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i now wants former Kitutu Masaba MP Walter Nyambati to withdraw appeal case against governor John Nyagarama.
On Thursday next week, a three judge bench led by Kathurima I' Manoti will deliver a ruling as to whether Nyagarama won fairly.
At a fundraiser on Tuesday at Maxwell SDA for Nyagarama's dead son, Matiang'i urged Nyambati to work with the governor.
"We should now concentrate on development. Time for politics is over.
"I ask my good friend Nyambati to withdraw the petition and work with the governor," he said.
In February, Nyambati lost at High Court when Justice James Makau dismissed his petition on grounds that it lacked merit.
Should he withdraw the petition, he will join Ochillo Ayacko, who reconciled with Migori Governor Okoth Obado.
Even though he is not a politician, Matiang'i is among popular public figures across Gusii.
Throughout last year, Nyambati was president Uhuru Kenyatta's chief campaigner in Nyanza region.
