Students, teachers and parents in the Rift Valley region continue to celebrate following the release of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results by Education CS Amina Mohamed on Friday, December 21.

Moi High School Kabarak, Moi Girls Eldoret and Kapsabet Boys topped in the region after producing the highest number of students who scored grade A and featured among the top performers in the country. 

In Kericho County, which is located in the southern part of the Rift Valley, Moi Tea Girls and Litein Boys High School in Bureti Constituency battled for the two top positions in the county. 

Just like in 2017, Moi Tea Girls which is located a few kilometres from Kericho town beat the giant boys' school by scoring a mean score of 9.6, thus taking the top position in the county.

Irene Chepkemoi Cheruiyot the top student in the school managed to a achieve a performance index of 84.996. Cheruiyot is the only student in the entire count to be listed among the top 100 students nationally. 

Litein Boys recorded a mean score of 8.3 to emerge the best boys' school in the county. The school produced one straight A, 32 A- and 46 B+.

200 students scored C+ and above out of the 285 registered candidates.
