Nyamira County Senator Okongo' Omogeni dismissed claims by a section of Nyamira locals that he is sleeping on the job.
According to the senator, he is working around the clock to ensure the crippled operations in Nyamira county streamlines.
O' Mogeni, while addressing mourners on Friday at a funeral in Bonyunyu village, Bogichora in Nyamira County, said he has not slept on his oversight roles.
"I am working around the clock to ensure public funds are spent wisely. Scared rivals should stop telling lies to the electorates," said the senator.
The vocal senator reiterated that he is not part of leaders in the county misusing public funds.
He appealed to Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama to take up development projects with seriousness.
"I don't want to carry a cross and be crucified over a crime I have not committed. It is high time the county boss to end corruption" he noted.
He assured that he is vigilant in his oversight role in the county adding that MCAs should be of value to the people.
"MCAs should not prioritize earning salaries and allowances while residents continue suffering in villages. MCAs were elected to help bring devolution fruits close to the people," he said.
