Police officers in Gucha South, Kisii County on Tuesday arrested a secondary school teacher for allegedly impregnating two female form 2 students.
Confirming the incident, Kisii County police commander Hassan Abdi said the teacher, Daniel Mogaka was arrested after the girls confessed that he has been sleeping with them.
"The two girls failed to report to school this term and when their parents questioned them they revealed that they were 3 months pregnant and Mogaka was responsible," said Abdi.
The commander noted that the parents notified the police who traced the teacher and arrested him.
He assured them that the teacher will be arraigned in court on Friday to be charged.
"The suspect was transferred to Kisii Central police station from where he will be taken to court on Friday to be charged. Tests done on the two girls confirmed that they are pregnant," he said.
Abdi warned teachers against taking advantage of young girls they are teaching to lure them into sex saying the law will not spare such teachers.
Speaking from the police cells, the suspect admitted being responsible for impregnating the school girls and pleaded for forgiveness.
"It didn't know I could impregnate the girls. I am pleading for forgiveness and I will take responsibility of the pregnancies"," he said.
