Jubilee party has failed the country, Senator Mutula Kilonzo has said.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen’s JKL on Wednesday, the senator said that the infighting in Jubilee has hampered President Uhuru Kenyatta’s fight to deliver on his promises.
He said that the slogan of the party is no longer ‘Tuko Pamoja’ but ‘Tulikuwa Pamoja’.
“Looks like Jubilee party’s new slogan is: ‘Tulikuwa Pamoja’ They have given us an easy time as Opposition,” he said the Makueni legislator.
His remarks did not augur well with Senator Johnson Sakaja, who was also present during the interview.
Sakaja reminded Mutula that the opposition had failed to play its role in overseeing the government. He said the government was trying despite a myriad of challenges it continues to experience.
Mutula Jnr also pointed out that the government has continued to borrow loans from China, which is not good for the economy.
He argued that the move is likely to cause the nation more harm than good and appealed to President Uhuru to ensure that the Chinese do not take over jobs reserved for the locals.
This comes after it emerged that Chinese nationals are now trading at Gikomba and other markets.
