Kisii County Senator Sam Ongeri has backed ODM party leader Raila Odinga's referendum calls.
Ongeri stated that the constitution should be amended because it will be good for Kenyans.
"Raila is right calling for a referendum. I will mobilise residents across the county to participate in the referendum. Changes should be made to ensure Raila vies for Presidency in 2022," he said.
The ODM senator said politicians should not use the NASA leader's old age to oppose his calls for a referendum.
He reiterated that Raila has never been mad.
"The former Prime Minister pushed for the constitution to be passed in 2010, therefore, there is no crime calling for a referendum to do changes that will ensure Kenyans remain in peace, unity, and harmony after elections," he added.
Mr. Ongeri called on Jubilee and NASA leaders to team up and ensure the referendum is done before the 2022 elections.
According to the Senator, Raila has a chance to save this country if he becomes president after President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He was speaking in Kisii town on Friday evening.
