Nyali Member of Parliament (MP) Mohammed Ali has welcomed controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna to Kenya after staying in exile for over a year.
Miguna was forcefully deported to Canada a few weeks after he presided over the swearing-in of ODM leader Raila Odinga on January 30, 2018.
The government alleged the lawyer's citizenship was questionable and sent him away for being in the country illegally.
However, the former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate has vowed to return to the country after the High Court last year ruled he was a Kenyan, and termed his deportation illegal.
In a tweet on Friday, he said even though the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) has refused to compel the state to return his passport which was confiscated by immigration officials, and facilitate his unconditional return as ordered by courts, he will force his way back before end of this month.
"Kenyans spend billions of shillings funding the activities of KNCHR so that it can discharge its mandates, chief among which is the protection of our human rights. Both KNCHR and the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) have failed me. But I'll be at the JKIA before the end of April, 2019," he tweeted.
Following the announcement, Mohammed Ali endorsed Miguna's move and welcomed him back.
"Karibu nyumbani Jenerali (Welcome back General). Fully behind you," tweeted the former investigative journalist.
Miguna has repeatedly said his first mission upon return would be to "start a revolution" to free Kenyans from "despots".
