Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka is a man under siege.

Kalonzo has swung into action as he seeks to tame governors Alfred Mutua (Machakos), Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) and Charity Ngilu (Kitui) before 2022 polls.

According to the trio, Kalonzo has failed to prove that he has what it takes to lead the community to clinch the Presidential seat come 2022.

Kalonzo continues to face various political obstacles each day.

Wiper party chairman Kivutha Kibwana alongside several MCAs from the region snubbed Kalonzo's meeting held in Yatta on Tuesday.

The war within Wiper party and rebellion from his close allies make it hard for Kalonzo to win the hearts of Ukambani residents.

It is evident that a wind of change is blowing in Ukambani and Kalonzo is not likely to survive it this time round.

The Wiper leader must go back to the drawing board and find ways to cement his position before it is too late.

The revelation that Kamba leaders could back another candidate for the top seat leaves Kalonzo a man with sleepless nights.

There is no way Kalonzo can beat Deputy President William Ruto if he cannot tame the rebel governors from his backyard.

Kalonzo has a long way to go as far as the presidency is concerned.
