US ambassador to the European Union Gordon Soundland has been accused of sexual misconduct by several women.
According to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the devastating claims of sexual misconduct date back to before he assumed the position of ambassador.
The accusations, were first published by Portland Monthly Magazine and ProPublica.
He has strongly denied the allegations levelled against him, saying that they are politically motivated because of his testimony against US President Donald Trump in the impeachment hearings.
"These untrue claims of unwanted touching and kissing are concocted and, I believe, co-ordinated for political purposes," he said in a statement to the media."
"They have no basis in fact, and I categorically deny them," he added.
His lawyer said that the women were being used in a deliberate attempt to tarnish his credibility according to Aljazeera.
One of the women who have made accusations say that Gordon Soundland kissed her by force.
Nicole Vogel said she met Soundland back in 2008 as she sought investment in her new magazine.
He took her to a room where he requested for a hug and groped her.
The claims come just days after the EU ambassador implicated Trump in a scheme to pressure Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden in return for aid.
