The widow of former Kibra Member of Parliament Ken Okoth, has shared details of her relationship with the deceased.
On Wednesday, Monica Okoth recounted her last days with the deceased, adding that Ken was the best thing she ever had in life.
She described her late husband as a man she would marry again if she has a chance to live one more time.
Monica noted that it was painful watching Ken suffer when he was diagnosed with cancer, adding that the late legislator had been ill for the past two years.
She thanked Kenyans for the overwhelming support they have accorded her family during Ken's illness and after his demise.
“I have led an incredible life with Ken Okoth, lived in many parts of the world with him. We were truly best friends. Ken was ill in the last two years and it was sad to watch him suffer. Thank you all for your support and love,“ she said.
The body of the deceased is set to be cremated at a private function over the weekend.
Addressing the media outside a Nairobi hotel on Wednesday, ODM leader Raila Odinga said the family has finalised the plans Okoth's final sendoff.
“Ken will be given to the family to do the rest, just like we did with Kenneth Matiba. So the family will do the rest,” said Raila as quoted by Citizen Digital.
