Managing Director to Equity Group’s digital finance subsidiary Finserve Africa Jack Ngare has landed a lucrative job with Microsoft.
Microsoft Corporate Vice President and ADC project lead Mike Fortin confirmed on Tuesday that Ngare will be their new Managing Director for its newly launched Africa Development Centre (ADC).
“We’ve been adding to our team of engineers aggressively and to have Jack in this talented group is fantastic,” he said.
Ngare's exit from the bank is a big blow since he was a tech guru, who used to oversee certain big projects like the launch of Finserve Africa. He is also the brains behind Equitel, Mkey and the Jenga Payment Gateway.
He has a masters degree in Advanced Computer Science from Harvard University. He also holds an elementary Computer Science degree from the University of Leicester.
He previously worked at British Telecommunications (BT) global services, Stanbic and NIC banks.
Ngare's exit comes just days after the exit of Polycarp Igathe, who was the bank's Managing Director.
Igathe moved to Vivo Energy on a regional marketing role, which was his previous post before his short stint in politics.
Recently, the bank revealed that it made a total of Sh12 billion shillings profit.
