Molo Member of Parliament (MP) Kimani Kuria has apologized over his unfortunate behaviour on Friday.
The MP arrived at an anti-illicit brew function within his constituency drunk and in bad shape.
Speaking on Saturday, the youthful lawmaker tendered his apologies to his constituents, stating that the incident will not negatively affect the war against illicit liquor in the region.
“I am sorry for what happened and I want to tell my people that it will never happen again,” he was quoted by Standard during a briefing at Chesingele village.
On Thursday, the MP was hoisted over the fence by his supporters before being ushered to his seat at the podium during the function presided by Molo Deputy County Commissioner.
The incident at Elburgon resulted in anger from locals who termed his behavior as a disgrace to his electorate.
Others threatened to rough him up, forcing officers at the function to take him away before the public became more agitated.
“He has brought us shame. We used to love him but he his actions today left us in shock,” one of the residents told the Standard.
