Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi on Thursday joined his boss Governor James Ongwae to register for 'Huduma Namba'.
Maangi insisted that residents who want to access government services easily should register for their respective numbers.
"I am calling upon Kisii residents to ensure they are getting the personal Identification system which is aimed at simplifying processes and enhance public service delivery in Kenya," he said.
The county's second in command promised to traverse the whole county to encourage residents in deep villages to register.
He dismissed claims by a section of clergy members terming the Huduma Number initiative as evil.
"Kisii residents should ignore information being peddled around that provision of Huduma number to Kenyans is evil. Chiefs in deep villages should ensure everyone is registered," said Maangi.
He appealed to politicians to mobilize residents to join other Kenyans to register for the Huduma Namba arguing that issues of paperwork in various government offices will be reduced thus save time when residents seek government services across the county.
Huduma Namba registration is expected to run for the 45 days across the country.
