A section of Kisii youth allied to the Jubilee Party has disowned Deputy President William Ruto following a report released by IPSOS Synovate ranking him as the most corrupt Kenyan politician.
The youth, led by Kisii County Jubilee Youth secretary-general Isaac Motari argued that DP Ruto has disappointed Kenyans, adding that he should stop engaging in corruption.
"The name of our party is now being tarnished by DP Ruto over his corrupt dealings. As youths supporting the party we wish to urge him to change his dubious ways of acquiring wealth so that the name of the party can be clean," he said.
Motari asked DP Ruto to voluntarily surrender the public land he has been accused of grabbing, in a bid to clear his name.
"It will be very hard for Ruto to become President in 2022 if he will not surrender the pieces of land he has grabbed. It is time he should consider surrendering the parcels of land failure to which he will get it rough from Kenyans in 2022," he noted.
Emmanuel Osamo, a member of the youth group said DP Ruto should forget getting the support of youths in Kisii in 2022.
"We are not ready to vote for a corrupt leader who is interested in stealing public funds and grabbing lands. In 2022 Ruto should find an alternative way of winning votes for him to get to State House since we will not vote for him," he said.
Osamo further called for the resignation of the DP.
