This comes at a time when Uhuru seems to have pulled opposition leader Raila Odinga closer, in what appears like a plan to isolate Ruto whom he initially vowed to back in 2022.

In his weekly YouTube, analysis channel 'Take It or Leave It, Manyora warned that any such attempt will most likely backfire on both him (Uhuru) and Raila.

Manyora said that Ruto will easily play the victim card which could see take with him a section of Uhuru's Central Kenya region that feels indebted to him for backing the President twice.

"He will easily go back to Central Kenya and complain to them on how their son has humiliated and betrayed him and this could see him take away a portion of the region," he said.

On Raila's side, said the commentator, Ruto will approach the supporters of the former Prime Minister's co-principals in the National Super Alliance (NASA) and proceed to win.

"He will easily bring on board the supporters of Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi using the victim card and go ahead to win the poll," he added.

Manyora observed that it will not be easy for the two to get past Ruto and must be very careful if their plan is indeed to keep him off the presidency, adding that he might humiliate them.

Uhuru and Raila came together on March 9, last year under their truce dubbed the handshake, one that had seen them urn into inseparable brothers.

Raila is also a longtime presidential hopeful but is yet to announce his plans for the 2022 polls, though a section of his allies have hinted that he could face off with the DP.
