Police officers in Kisii County on Monday made a major breakthrough after five suspects were nabbed in possession of bhang worth Sh40,000.
The suspects were arrested in Gesonso area, Kisii South, Kisii County.
Confirming the incident area police boss Evans Omuga said police officers early arrested two suspects a man and a woman with 4 rolls of bhang.
"Police after a tip-off from members of public nabbed two suspects with 4 rolls of bhang. The suspects upon questioning they led police officers to a house where three other suspects were nabbed with 100 rolls of bhang," he said.
Omuga said the bhang is believed to have originated from the neighbouring country, Tanzania.
"The suspects have been importing bhang from Tanzania which they sell to local youths. They will face the full force of the law to serve as an example to the rest of the drug barons," he added.
