Former US President Barack Obama's visit to Siaya on Monday was barred with drama as a number of people were barred from seeing him.
Local residents had wished to see Obama during the launch of the Sauti Kuu Institute but he maintained a low profile.
Siaya governor Cornell Rasanga caused a stir after being subjected to a security check by secret service agents who accompanied Obama.
However, a woman who claimed to be Obama's sister-in-law has also turned away from the venue.
The woman claimed to be the Wife to Malik, Obama's estranged brother.
Despite being identified as Malik's wife, police blocked her from accessing the venue. According to officers, the woman arrived late.
"I don't want to talk to the media. Please do not write this or broadcast it anywhere. It is so embarrassing. I only wanted to see and greet my brother-in-law," she is quoted by The Standard.
Malik who has differed with Obama on different issues was also missing from the event that was organized by his sister Auma Obama.
Obama arrived in the country on Sunday where he met with President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga.
