Makueni Governor Prof. Kivuta Kibwana on Tuesday caused a stir and laughter from the public during the official launch of the Huduma Namba registration at Masii, Machakos County by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Prof. Kibwana excited the President when he admitted that he was 'jealous' of his Machakos counterpart Dr.Alfred Mutua.
In a live broadcast by KBC, Prof Kibwana said he was not 'satisfied' as to why the President opted to launch two important activities in Machakos County.
"Mr.President, I must say am a bit jealous of Dr.Mutua and this is positive jealousy,
"Kwa sababu, wakati wa last mile ya Stima ulilaunch huku. Sasa kuandikisha watu umelaunch huku (Because when you were launching the last mile power project you launched it in Machakos similarly to this Huduma namba registration)," he said.
He, however, expressed his appreciation to the head of state for considering the lower Eastern region in carrying out important government functions.
"Am a bit jealous but am happy because, hii region yetu, (this region) Eastern, you have found out that it is a place you must come again and again to do important national things," he added.
The head of state was in Masii grounds, Machakos county during the rollout of the biometric registration which kicked out across the country.
