According to Abdinoor Hussein, one of the referees who officiated matches in Fafi sub-county of Garissa County, the giant telco company is yet to pay them their dues.

Speaking to Hivisasa in confidence on Tuesday, Abdiboor who played centre in at least eight matches, claimed not a single of them has received accrued dues.

"It is now a month and nothing has been deposited in our bank accounts. We have families to feed and other responsibilities as well," said Abdinoor.

He is now calling on the company that sponsored the countrywide sports competitions to pay them their dues as a matter of urgency.

The referee further threatened that if the company does not honour the deal within the next week, then they will mobilize local teams in the entire Fafi sub-county for a demonstration.

"We are giving them one week to settle our dues. Winning teams are already in Spain for their LaLiga training but here we are crying for our dues. It is very unfair. We will stage a demonstration involving all participating teams if they fail to pay us this week," Abdinoor said.

Efforts to seek clarification from North Eastern Chapa Dimba regional coordinator proved futile as he is said to have accompanied the winning teams to Spain for their LaLiga visit.
