Kamba gospel Musician Justus Myello has come out to explain why he opted out of the Embakasi South parliamentary race.
In a phone interview with Hivisasa on Friday, Myello said that he backed down from the race because he was not ready for politics.
He noted that he does harbour future ambitions of vying for a political seat but he had to wait until the right time.
"Children are blessings but no parent feels good when his or her underage girl gives birth, so my bid was untimely and immature and that's why I had to let go of that chance," said Myello.
The Katiwa hitmaker observed that in future, he will vie for a senatorial seat if all goes well, but for now, he will concentrate on music.
"Vying for political seat need funds and facilitation. When I'm ready, I will go public about the seat I will go for," he said.
In the last by-election for Embakasi South, Myello had declared interest where he was to vie on a Grand Dram Development Party(GDDP) ticket.
However, he backed down and the ticket was handed over to Jairus Musyoka. Wiper's candidate, Julius Musili Mawathe won the by-election and trounced his biggest competitor Irshad Sumra among.
