Soy Member of Parliament Caleb Kositany has threatened to sue three North Rift legislators who recently claimed Deputy President William Ruto has planted over 500,000 acres of maize in Congo.
The three Joshua Kutuny (Cherangany), Alfred Kutuny (Nandi Hills) and Silas Tiren (Moiben) made the claims during a farmers' meeting at the Teachers Advisory Centre (TAC) in Eldoret last Saturday.
Speaking to the press in Eldoret town on Friday, Kositany said the MPs allegations are false and only meant to tarnish the good name of the DP.
“As leaders from the North Rift region, we have said that on behalf of the Deputy President, we will take the trio to court for them to tell us where the 500,000 acres of land is and if they have the evidence on the same," said the MP who is a close ally of DP Ruto.
He further said they will not stay mum while the three are being used by individuals to derail DP's 2022 presidential ambitions.
“We will not allow few leaders under our watch to tarnish Deputy president’s name, we will deal with them accordingly,” added Kositany
Kositany further urged the three MPs not to use farmer’s woes to get political mileage but instead come up with solutions that will help the farmer.
