Early today after 9 am, Cuban Doctors were attacked by suspected Al Shabaab terrorists in Mandera.
During the attack, a police officer, who was guarding two Cuban doctors, was shot dead by the terrorists.
The attack is a clear indication that the fight against terrorists is far from over.

According to an eyewitness, the armed attackers blocked the way for the vehicle that was taking the doctors to their work station, then alighted from their vehicle and fired bullets killing the police officer instantly.
In what is suspected to be an abduction, the two doctors were taken by the terrorists. It is thought that the attackers are Al-Shabaab militia.
Although the Kenya Defense Forces have already been dispatched to deal with the situation, more needs to be done in securing our borders and enhance the free flow of services and goods.
