A woman died mysteriously on Wednesday morning at Mosobeti village in Kenyenya, an incident which has left residents in a shock.
Area chief Peter Seberio confirmed the incident, saying the deceased Dorine Nyaboke, who was in her 50s, couldn't wake up when her granddaughter went to check on her.
"She was a tomato vendor and was going about her businesses on Tuesday. It's shocking that she was discovered dead this morning," said the chief.
According to Mr Seberio, the deceased has never been hospitalized for any ailments before.
"She was a peaceful individual who always loved relating well to people. Her death has left villagers in a rude shock," he stated.
He noted that Nyaboke, a mother of three, has been living with her granddaughter after her husband died 3 years ago in suspected witchcraft.
The administrator protested increased cases of witchcraft in the area, claiming that the cases had risen rampantly.
The body of the deceased was taken to Kenyenya Sub-county hospital morgue.
