The riders pounced on Patrick Ng'ang'a within the market over allegations that he is part of the syndicate, after he was named by another suspect, and killed by the irate riders.

This follows an initial incident where another suspect who was nabbed with a stolen motorbike in Soweto, Nairobi county named him as part of the team.

The incident was confirmed by Murang'a East Deputy Police Commander Alexander Muasya.

This, however, came after his  officers had failed to rescue the deceased from the hands of the angry riders, who proceeded to beat the life out of the suspect at about 7pm.

The police boss said that they have since recovered two motorbikes bought in the area from a Nairobi hideout and a vehicle which was stolen in the saw market.

He said that the motorbikes were found hidden in a garage, thanks to a tracking system, adding that two suspects were also nabbed and will be presented in court on Monday.

The body of the deceased was moved to the Muranga County Mortuary, reports the Standard.
