Harambee Stars suffered its biggest defeat yet in the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) to the Lions of Teranga of Senegal in spite of displaying mental strength and nerves of steel.
Kenya will now have to wait for the outcomes of two games tonight to know whether they will be making it to the round of 16.
The two games are Group F's Cameroon vs Benin and Group E's Mali vs Angola.
If Benin and Angola, who have 2 points apiece lose their last group stage matches, then Kenya will sail through to the knock-out stages as one of the best four 3rd placed teams.
Kenya, which has three points after beating Tanzania 3-2, is at the bottom of the group of teams that have the potential of gracing the last 16.
The other teams in the best 3rd placed group are Guinea with four points, DR Congo with three points and South Africa with three points.
DR Congo and South Africa are on top of Kenya thanks to a superior goal difference.
Algeria and Senegal qualified as the best two teams in Group C with Kenya coming third and Tanzania finishing last after losing all its games.
