Milimani Senior Resident Magistrate (SRM) C.M. Nzibe ordered the suspects Shang Li Yan, Xing Wei, Zhang Jie and David Oseko to be detained at Kilimani police station for five days to allow completion of investigation.

She ordered that the suspects be brought to court on Monday next week to assess investigation progress.

Detectives had sought for 10 days to complete their investigation.

The four were arrested at their apartment after neighbours complained of a foul smell emanating from their house.

On raiding their apartment, detectives recovered rotten game meat stored in four freezers, a live tortoise, two elephant tusks and sculptures, ivory bangles and necklaces, leopard skin, rhino horn and an unknown amount of foreign currency.
