Mr. Gichana, a close ally of Odinga and Ruto, was released early this week from Arusha prison after pleading guilty to money laundering and fraud charges.

Already, both sides have claimed having had a hand in Mr. Gichana's release as preparations to receive the popular politician back home gathered momentum.

"I want to thank DP Ruto for contributing towards the fine Bosco was slapped with. His humility when Bosco needed help is just evident," claimed David Mokaya, a confidant of Ruto.

But the ODM brigade could hear none of that on grounds that Bosco's release hugely depended on Raila's high level negotiations with President John Magufuli.

In August, ODM Communication Director Philip Etale claims, Raila visited Tanzania and brokered a deal to have Bosco released.

"We all know how Raila helped to have him out. He too knows. I was part of the team that stayed in Arusha for days to finalise the deal," said blogger Olivia Moraira, adding that Raila even contributed to the Sh15 million fine.

Although he has remained mum after arriving in the country, Bosco received Oscar Sudi and Senator Samson Cherargei at his home further speculating a possible hand of Ruto. However, Sudi is married to his sister.

The popularity of the business has surged lately with sources intimating he might be Simba Arati's running mate in the battle to succeed Governor James Ongwae.

But how he will balance the needs of the two camps, remains a mystery that would be unraveled soon.
