Sonko says that he will not entertain officials who are derailing the county’s’ development agenda.

The governor stated that he will suspend and even sack employees who fail to deliver on the duties assigned to them.

Governor Sonko who spoke on Citizen TV’s Jeff Koinange Live  (JKL) on Wednesday, said that millions of Nairobians are jobless and that few people will not derail his development agenda.

The governor further said that he will not change his style of leadership.

He said that former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero used the corporate style but he failed miserably.

“I will be more ruthless and get rid of corrupt officers and cartels from the Nairobi county government,” he said.

A section of politicians have questioned Sonko’s style of leadership.

The politicians including MCAs accuse Sonko of allegedly intimidating county employees.

Sonko has however said that he is not afraid of impeachment threats.

The Nairobi governor is under siege as MCAs have threatened to impeach him for running the county affairs from his Mua home in Machakos.

Sonko is also facing impeachment threats for failing to pick his deputy, nine months after Polycarp Igathe resigned.
