A Jubilee elected MP from the Gusii community has piled pressure on Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i to vie for the country’s top seat in 2022.
Samuel Arama who is an elected MP for Nakuru Town West claimed that Matiang’i has all it takes to be the president after President Uhuru Kenyatta completes his second and last tenure in 2022.
“Matiang’i has shown good leadership qualities and without doubt, he will make a good president in 2022. I am, therefore, begging him to vie for the presidency in 2022 because Kenyans will rally behind him,” he noted.
Arama volunteered Matiang’i on grounds that he is the reason parents are not paying school fees and now he is focused to ensure sanity is realized on roads.
The vocal lawmaker insisted that the Gusii community will not be left behind pushing one of their own (Matiang’i) for the country’s top seat.
“I am pleading with my colleagues from Kisii and Nyamira Counties to step up efforts to ensure Matiang’i goes for the country’s top seat in 2022,” he added.
He appealed to other communities in the country to support Matiang’i to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
