The Manchester United Football Club is one of the European teams that enjoy massive following in Kenya.
Among soccer enthusiasts who rally behind the English Premier League-side are top politicians who include Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen, his National Assembly counterpart Aden Duale, Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro and others.
The Jubilee politicians on Friday night were on cloud nine following Man United's impressive win against their bitter rivals Arsenal.
The Ole Gunnar Solskjaer-coached team beat the Gunners 3-1 during the FA Cup fourth-round fixture played at the Emirates stadium.
Man United, popularly known as the Red Devils, stormed into the Cup's fifth-round courtesy of goals from Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial.
Arsenal's goal was netted by Gabonese national striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang just before the half time.
The win was celebrated by Man United fans who took to social media to express their happiness.
"We are Manchester United and we do what we want...We win when we want and let other smaller teams win only when we want. Without Man U there's no football. Mmeshika hio? (Have you heard that)" posted Nyoro on Facebook.
On his part, Duale thanked the players for another victory which is Solskajaer's eighth successive win since he took over from Jose Mourinho.
"Goals from Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial booked a place for Manchester United in the Emirates FA Cup fifth round in scintillating style, overcoming and beating Arsenal 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Friday night.
What an impressive game from the boys once again," said the Garissa Township MP.
Murkomen praised the new coach for coming at the right time to transform the club which was on a downward trend during Mourinho's tenure.
"Ole getting the best out of all these @ManUtd players now. Something Jose failed to do," he noted.
"Beating Arsenal is normal. No need to celebrate," the Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator added.
