Former Kiambu governor William Kabogo for the first time joined the gambling arena yesterday before the Harambee Stars Vs Ethiopia match at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani on Sunday.
Before the match, the flamboyant politician took to his twitter account to give his prediction of the match and even urged gamblers to place their bets on his prediction.
"I have a feeling well chapa Ethiopia 2 - 0 anyone to bet?” he posted.
To many people’s surprise, the game ended in a 3-0 win for Kenya’s national team Harambee Stars.
Anyone who had followed Kabogo’s prediction to put money on Kenya to win made easy money yesterday. With Ksh50 million for grabs, this was a must win for the Kenyan team.
Kasarani was full of fans from all over the nation given the fact that entrance was free.
DP Ruto who had promised the team Ksh. 50 million if they won was in attendance. Other high profile figures who attended the match were Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa and Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Nick Mwendwa.
The win against Ethiopia inched Kenya closer to getting into the 2019 African Cup of Nations finals that will be held in Cameroon.
