Speaking in Kisumu, Liete said that the ongoing wrangles will ultimately reach a boiling point and break the Party if nothing is done.

He said that as former ‘students’ of retired President Daniel Arap Moi, Uhuru and Ruto should know how to effectively call their wrangling foot soldiers to order.

“You the President and your deputy are products of KANU. You know how former President Daniel Moi used to run KANU affairs. I thought that you would go that direction where there are no jokes in the Party. We cannot have a party that does not have discipline,” said Liete.

He urged the Head of State who doubles up as Jubilee Party leader to call for an urgent delegate’s meeting so as to elect new Party leaders.

“Mr President, call for party elections. We cannot have a Party where people are wrangling every day. We have to go to elections and elect new officials so that we do away with these interim leaders,” he insisted.

Liete was a United Republican Party’s (URP) official. The Party-aligned to DP William Ruto was among the several Parties which folded to form Jubilee Party ahead of the 2017 general elections.
