Tongaren Legislator Eseli Simiyu claimed Ruto was planning to "bribe" Kenyans in the next election so they can support his bid to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In an exclusive interview with NTV on Tuesday, the outspoken politician said the Jubilee Deputy Party leader has no other strategy to win the top seat apart from splashing billions of money.

Simiyu asked Kenyans to be ready to get a share of Ruto's wealth but warned them against voting for the man he claimed has a questionable character.

"We need to prepare Kenyans and tell them that the amount of money they're going to see in the next election is a lot. Pocket the money but vote rightfully," he said.

Simiyu, who is also the FORD Kenya Secretary-General, warned Siaya Senator James Orengo against tabling impeachment motion against the DP in Parliament, saying money will be used to defeat it.

"If the motion gets to both Houses, Ruto is going to use it, turn it around and win... Ruto has control over the Parliament…the only strategy Ruto has is money," said the Tongaren MP.

He further noted the DP has the backing of most MPs from Central Kenya, Rift Valley and some from opposition zones who will not let impeachment motion against him sail through the National Assembly.
