On Friday, President Uhuru Kenyatta relieved off Echesa duties without though citing the circumstances behind his Executive Orders which have rattled a section of Western Kenya politicians.

But the former Kitutu Masaba MP has now accused Uhuru of sparing ministers linked to graft, adding that the move may continue hurting the economy of the country.

"I have never heard Echesa linked to graft. Perhaps the sacking has to do with something else and not corruption. Our country is losing billions and nothing is being done.

"The president should sack the real thieves and spare us theatrics. We know them and we have seen them give lame excuses. This is the time to say the truth and let it set us free," he said.

A number of ministers including Henry Rotich, Charles Keter, Fred Matiang'i, Mwangi Kiunjuri have been linked to graft related scandals but the president is yet to act.

Local media reported that Uhuru is waiting for NIS report on five ministers who were likely to be dismissed on Friday as well before he acts amid public outcry.

The president has been under pressure from the public to act and has often warned that he will unleash on lazy, corrupt and incompetent public officials.
