Residents of Kiamokama in Kisii County are yet to come to terms after a middle-aged man disowned his parents terming them witch-doctors.
This happened on Saturday.
Alexinah Nyarangi said the man Ezekiel Mogusu said his parents are witch doctors who have been bewitching innocent residents.
"Mogusu married 3 months ago but, his wife abandoned him because his parents didn't want the woman. Angered Mogusu has since been going around the village saying he is an orphan and he doesn't recognize his parents because they are witch-doctors who tried lure his ex-wife to practice witchcraft in vain," said Nyarangi.
According to Nyarangi, Mogusu now wants his parents lynched because they witch-doctors.
Area assistant chief Joseph Michira said the matter is being investigated.
"Mogusu came to my office claiming that his parents should be chased from the village since they are witch doctors. He has been publicly claiming that he is an orphan after his wife abandoned him," said Atuya.
Mr Michira said he has since summoned the man's parents.
"I have ordered Mogusu's parents to appear in my office on Monday to give more details about the allegations," he stated.
